Clonmel based Kieran Bergin Sports launched a pre-sale of their Tipperary GAA Club masks on Monday afternoon and have sold over 2000 masks within two days.
The top selling mask is Carrick Swans GAA with 18 per cent of the total number of sales. The Swans beating out their traditional rivals The Davin’s by a margin of 9% as of lunch time today.
The black masks which carry a subtle crest of each GAA club in Tipperary are being sold in batches of three and cost €10.00. They are scheduled to be delivered to customers by Friday of next week.
Second on the list, Clonmel Commercials members and fans have outbought their hurling counterparts two to one as St Marys register 6%. The 2019 County Football champions have registered 14% of all of the masks purchased.
Representing the North of the Premier County; Kildangan claim third sport with over 9 per cent of all masks bought. Closely followed by Gortnahoe with 8 per cent.
Moycarkey Borris represent Mid-Tipp in the mask league table with a strong showing in fourth place tied with Galtee Rovers representing the West Tipperary.
Kieran Bergin, Founder and Manging Director of the Tipperary company, and former hurling and footballer with Tipperary said:
“We thought we would have a bit of fun with what is a very serious matter by creating a League Table of Masks – Facecovering are now mandatory on public transport and soon will be in enclosed public spaces including in shops.
